July 14, 2004Farewell to CarlJournalist Carl Kovac dead at 70. Carl Kovac was a warrior. He was a warrior for his country while serving as a United States Marine from 1953-1956 during the Korean Conflict. He was a warrior for society in his lifelong profession as a journalist. I remember Carl as a kind, curious, passionate man from my days at the Budapest International Press Center. He was a good man who will be sadly missed. Rest in Peace, Carl.
