Union County St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee Hosting Celebrity Bartenders Party

The Union County St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee will host their annual Celebrity Bartenders fundraiser on Saturday, February 7, 2009 from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the Kenilworth Veterans Center located at 33 South 21st Street, Kenilworth, NJ 07033.

Entertainment will include The Snakes, who offer rock and folk music with an Irish kick, and pipe and drum bands. For more information about The Snakes, please visit www.thesnakesband.com.

Tickets are $5.00 each. Refillable Commemorative beer mugs are $10.

The Celebrity Bartenders party will benefit the 2009 Union County St. Patrick’s Day Parade which steps off at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2009 on Morris Avenue in Union, NJ.

R.I.P Firefighter Stephens

Elizabeth Firefighter Gary Stephens died in the line of duty in the early hours of January 2nd. Today family, friends and about 1,000 brother firefighters gathered to honor his memory.

More than 1,000 firefighters and law enforcement officers gathered today for the funeral of a veteran Elizabeth firefighter killed Friday when he was struck by a fire truck after he responded to an early morning blaze.

Dressed in their crisp dark-blue uniforms and white gloves, scores of firefighters from around the state lined South Broad Street by St. John's Episcopal Church in downtown Elizabeth for the funeral of firefighter Gary Stephens.
